Fall Break at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach
Our family of four flew Southwest with two Companion Passes and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach through the Chase travel portal. Here is what we paid in cash and points.

We flew Southwest with two Companion Passes and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. We booked the resort through the Chase travel portal, since it is an Edit hotel.
How the resort was paid for
We made two separate bookings. Each one was $250 cash plus 34,000 Chase points, so 68,000 points in total. I had two $250 Edit credits from the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business (the personal Reserve has them too), so both $250 payments were reimbursed.
If you were to book these same nights through Hyatt, the booking would have taken 115k points. Booking through the Chase Travel Portal with a points boost plus the Edit credits made our points go much further.
Here is what was included with The Edit
- Complimentary breakfast at the Watertable (about $400 value/$100 a day)
- $200 in hotel credit
- $60 in Surf City Grocers credit
