A little about me

I'm a travel-obsessed mom with a full-time job, big financial goals, and a PTO balance that never seems to stretch far enough. My whole thing is finding as many chances as I can throughout the year to check out for a few days and make memories with my family.

Early in 2025 I got tired of feeling like I had to pick between saving for the future and actually going somewhere. Then I learned how credit card welcome offers work, and it genuinely changed things for us. Now we get away every six weeks or so — usually quick 2-to-7-day trips that slot in around work and school.

How I keep the card details straight

Every card page here pulls its offer, fee and earning details from notes I keep and date myself. When an issuer changes something, I update the page and show a fresh date rather than letting old numbers sit there quietly going stale.

How I make money

Some card links pay me a commission if you apply and get approved. Those are always marked, and the note shows up on every page that has one. It doesn't change which cards I cover or what I say about them — if a card isn't right for a family like mine, I'll tell you.

What you won't find here

Made-up point values, spending tricks, or advice that only works if you ignore your budget. I write about cards we've actually used and trips we've actually taken, with the real numbers attached. If I haven't booked it myself, I'll say so.

The one thing I'll always repeat

Points are only worth chasing on top of a balance you pay off right away. We put spending we were already doing on a new card, clear it in full, and let the welcome offer cover the flights. That order matters more than any card on this site.
